To illustrate Mao's quotation, the image shows an army soldier in the middle holding an assault rifle and two militants on either side of him with rifles on their backs. The militant to the poster's right is dressed as a peasant with a Mao badge pinned to his jacket and a towel tied around his head. The other militant wears a miner's helmet and a towel around his neck. Additional soldiers and citizen militia members stand behind them
