3 postcards relating to Allensworth, California, the first town in the state to be founded, financed, and governed by African Americans. 2 of the cards have Allensworth postmarks dated Jan. 19, and July 9, 1912. The card from January is a real photo card showing the town of Allensworth with snow covered peaks visible in the distance, and the July card references a "swell time" had at a picnic on the 4th. The third card is an announcement for the Sixth Tulare County Citrus Fair, (Dec. 4th to 13, 1913) listing Allensworth as one of the exhibitors. Card has a Three Rivers postmark dated December 3, 1913. All have handwritten and signed messages.
