Personal Takes on the Climate Culture of UCSD

The artwork features two photos. The photos feature two of my Asian American friends. The quotes on the pieces of paper say "I am still and ethnic minority" and "I don't have straight As". The quotes strive to show the audience that Asian Americans are not model minorities and the stereotypes given to Asian Americans by society are incorrect.

The paper is written to Angela Kong's "Re-examining Diversity Policy at University of California, San Diego: The Racial Politics of Asian Americans". I analyzes her argument and agree that the model minority stereotype revolving around Asian American's is negative.

For the Culture, Art, and Technology (CAT) 1: Migration Narratives in the Sixth College writing program taught by Amanda Solomon in the Fall of 2016, students were asked to think about how they view the current campus climate and respond to the fourth chapter of Angela Kong's dissertation, "Re-examining Diversity Policy at University of California, San Diego: The Racial Politics of Asian Americans" Thesis (Ph.
