Lloyd Dill, the captain of the D/V Glomar Challenger (ship), with a signed lifesaver from the research ship at a Global Marine, Inc. party. The D/V Glomar Challenger (ship) was a deep sea research and scientific drilling vessel used for the Deep Sea Drilling Project. It was operated by the Global Marine, Inc. The managing institution for the Deep Sea Drilling Project was Scripps Institution of Oceanography under contract to the National Science Foundation (NSF). 1982.
