Contract between the Real Estanco de Aguardiente and Alberto Clavijo, granting a license to supply aguardiente in certain parts of Bogotá, Colombia : manuscript
- Description
-
Manuscript contract, in Spanish, in which the Real Estanco de Aguardiente in Bogotá grants a license to Alberto Clavijo to supply aguardiente to the taverns along the Rio Arzobispo. The contract, which is valid for one year, states that Clavijo can sell the drink to the taverns along the Rio Arzobispo, and "elsewhere as convenient, as far as the Tabahita and Suba taverns." The agreement outlines the conditions under which the aguardiente can be bought from the Real Estanco; how much aguardiente Clavijo must buy; at what price; and what his maximum selling price may be. Witnessed and signed at the Real Casa de Estanco in Santa Fé de Bogotá, with Pedro Arias signing on behalf of the illiterate Clavijo
