Scientific members of the Swan Song Expedition (1961) are shown here making repairs to the \"sampler\" water collection bag. This expedition explored the North Pacific at the equator and Eastern Tropical Pacific on the research ship Argo. The expedition collected large water samples for analysis, studied the Cromwell Current (Pacific Equatorial Undercurrent), and undertook a limited biological program for the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission. September 1961.
