Display of decorated long yams for exchange ceremony. 03:37 -- male initiates, including a few younger boys, parade with triangular headdresses and drums. 06:18 -- men enter village carrying highly decorated yams with woven masks. Yams are displayed upright. Very large yams are carried in horizontally, lashed to poles. Men with spears charge ahead of those carrying yams, clearing the way. 12:12 -- Young woman being draped with shell and teeth necklaces, shell bracelets, following seclusion for her first menstrual period. Small group, including children, around her. Red pigment is applied to her face. 15:08 -- People gather for entry of initiates. Decorated young men enter dancing and singing, carrying white feathers. Men enter wearing large triangular headdresses. 18:02 -- Seated men with lime gourds.18:16 -- Yam display. Men enter village clearing, brandishing spears. Ritual displays of aggression. 21:02 -- Male initiates, men and young boys, dance with large headdresses. Girls and young women dance. 24:00 -- Long yam display. Men orate. 27:00 -- Men with bowls of food, eating together. One man paces in clearing in front of large pile of short yams, brandishing a spear. Men distributes yams into smaller piles. Young woman carries away a large bilum full of yams.
