Readme file The data presented in this repository is obtained from Single Particle Soot Photometer (SP2) from Droplet Measurement Technology: Contents: I) Folder “Data” a) SP2timeseries_CalMexParqueMorelos_20100515.ict This file has timeseries data of 15 min average black carbon number (#/cc) and mass concentrations (ng/m3) during the CalMex campaign. b) SP2sizedist_ CalMexParqueMorelos_20100515.ict This file has timeseries data of 15 min average black carbon number (dN/dlogDp; #/cc) and mass sizedistributions (dM/dlogDp; ng/m3) during the CalMex campaign. II) Folder “HKfiles-CalMex” This folder contains Housekeeping files which provide information on instrument operational parameters such as sample and sheath flow rates, chamber temperatures, pressure, laser power along with Incandescent and Scattering aerosol number concentrations. III) Folder “Summary plots” Time series plots of black carbon number and mass concentrations along with their size distributions for the entire campaign are presented in this folder Reading data in ICARTT Format (.ict files): Dates and times in file names are in UTC. The date and time in the file name give the date/time at which the data within the file begin. For more information on reading and understanding the data in ICARTT format visit: http://www-air.larc.nasa.gov/missions/etc/IcarttDataFormat.htm If you are using Igor Pro, you should be able to use this software to read the files: http://cires1.colorado.edu/jimenez-group/wiki/index.php/Analysis_Software#ICARTT Alternatively, you can open the .ict files directly using the import data tool in excel. Reading House Keeping Files (.hk files) You will need a PSI SP2 toolkit developed in Igor Pro provided by Droplet Measurement Technology to view and plot the housekeeping data. Contact DMT to obtain the toolkit for free.
