Marge Bradner, wife to Scripps Institution of Oceanography Hugh Bradner, sailed and helped him with his scientific voyage. Later she would write about her experiences, titled "Seismic Summer: the story of eleven men and one woman sailing across the South Pacific to study the quivering sea floor." In this photo she wrote "They were no longer seamen, cook and engineer. They were a part of a scientific team." Circa 1963.
