The Vibe at UC San Diego

Completing a reading response paper for my CAT class, I realized that UC San Diego has had a different feeling on me rather than what other Asian Americans or minority races have felt.

I am a freshman majoring in Psychology. Meeting new people from Summer Bridge and others in my classes during the quarter has given me a great feeling about UC San Diego. Although I have much time to go, life here has been well.

For the Culture, Art, and Technology (CAT) 1: Migration Narratives in the Sixth College writing program taught by Amanda Solomon in the Fall of 2016, students were asked to think about how they view the current campus climate and respond to the fourth chapter of Angela Kong's dissertation, "Re-examining Diversity Policy at University of California, San Diego: The Racial Politics of Asian Americans" Thesis (Ph.
