Mission "De Alcala" San Diego. San Diego, Calif., 1769. Is located in the Mission Valley, six miles northeast of the City of San Diego. This was the first mission founded in the State of California. Next to the now ruined Mission structures, a new brick building has been erected for the training of Indian children.
