- Collection
- Description
-
Telling the story of her family, Ruth Weiss Hohberg presents the fate of those Polish Jews who in the beginning of World War II fled from Nazis to the eastern part of Poland annexed by the Soviet Union. As many other refugees from Poland, Ruth with her parents were exiled to Siberia, and then they relocated to Uzbekistan. In 1946, she returned to her hometown in Poland only to find the population unwilling to accept returning Jews, and eventually she arrived to the United States. Hohberg is an artist and writer.
