"This picture was taken at the 'Christmas' 'singsing' held at the station in Feburary, just before the eclipse. The chap on the right is the Officer-in-Charge, he weighs a little better than 15 stone and is 6'5". The one on the left is the Education Officer (i.e. teacher), the first European teacher posted to the Jimi, he arrived in January. They are sitting on bags of rice which were issued for the festivities." MSS187, Box 44, Folder 9.
